Uemura Shoen

Uemura Shoen (1875 - 1949) was famous for the paintings of beautiful women in the nihonga style, in Meiji, Taisho and early Showa period.
Her life has been novelized as "Jo no Mai" by a novelist, Tomiko Miyao.
