Kochi_City

Kochi City is the capital city of Kochi Prefecture. The population of the city is about 336,000.

The places of interest are Obiyamachi shopping arcade, Sunday Market Street, Harimaya-bashi, Kochi castle, Katsurahama, and Godaisan.

Kochi's most famous festival is the Yosakoi dance (Yosakoi means "come to Tosa") , which is held in August. (Kochi was called Tosa a long time ago.) Teams of dancers dance at various places in Kochi City. Nowadays, this dance is as if Brazilian carnival. (You can see the pictures of Yosakoi dance.)
