Tokyo

Tokyo (the Tokyo metropolitan area)
Tokyo is the capital of Japan. About 12 million people live in Tokyo. In 1590, the city was founded as Edo by Tokugawa Ieyasu shogun. Following the fall of the shoguns in 1867 and the restoration of the power of the Emperor, the city was renamed Tokyo.
