Japan(Nihon) is located in East Asia. It lies to the east of China, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea in the south.

Japan's capital and largest city is Tokyo.

The total area of Japan is 146,000 square miles, that is larger than Italy or Germany. Japan comprises a lot of islands, the largest of which are Honshu (89,194), Hokkaido (32,264), Kyushu (17,135) and Shikoku (7,258).

4.Population

Population of Japan is about 128 million (the world's tenth largest).

5.National flag

The Japanese flag is very simply red circle on white background. We call this flag Hinomaru. Hinomaru means sun circle in Japanese. This design has been emploied since 17 century.
