Culture

There are various genres at the present culture; for example, music, art, movie, television, novels and so on. I can't introduce about all of Japanese culture. In this page, I'll introduce some typical examples.

1. Comics (Manga) & Animation

Comics (Manga) might be one of the most famous cultures that Japan sends to world. Manga with modern style was established shortly after the World War 2 and has developed with the economic growth of Japan. Hit Mangas has been animated and televised. Recently the animation for movie theater has been made. I introduce famous cartoonists and their works as follows.

1) Osamu Tezuka 1928 - 1989

He was the originator of Manga and called the God of Manga.
There are a lot of famous works.

All these Mangas were animated and televised. When I was child, I used to watch these Animations. Disney's animated feature The Lion King (1994 ) was based on Kimba the White Lion(Jungle Emperor). Black Jack is the comics for adults. I think that a lot of young people in Japan wanted to be a doctor, seeing this comics.
